About Happy Tails Service Dogs

Happy Tails Service Dogs Training is dedicated to the education and training of a person with a physical disability and a dog to become a working team. This in turn will lead to greater independence in their homes, neighborhoods and communities. Learned tasks are based on individual needs of the owner, thus enhancing their daily activities.

Wendy & Cubby #66

A series of strokes left me with a right-sided deficit and impaired balance and coordination.  When my first service dog was nearing retirement, I brought Cubby home at only six weeks old.  I brought him up, trained him the way I wanted him, took him through three levels of obedience classes, and then we entered Happy Tails for formal service dog training.  Despite being a very young Golden, he was eager to serve and he excelled at just about everything I asked him to do.  Cubby braces for all my many stumbles each day, picks things up that I drop, which is pretty much everything I touch, helps me with slopes and stairs, and braces to get me up off the floor or ground.  The bond between us is amazing, and there are just no words to describe how much he has enriched my life.  I’m safer, more confident, and so much more independent.
